Frequently Asked Questions —
-
What sets you apart from other vendors?
While we pride ourselves in our recognition in publications like Martha Stewart and BRIDES, the end goal for The Collective is always centered around the couple and their unique vision and relationship. Some tend to get hung up on praise from big publications and loose sight of what’s really important. We are focused on creating high-end, authentic photographs for the couple and their guests. Anything else is merely the cherry on top.
-
Do you travel for weddings and events?
Yes! The Collective has traveled all over the world from Florence, Italy to Portland, Oregon. If you’re having a destination wedding, we’ll include the appropriate fees in your proposal.
-
Are we required to hire the entire team?
We strongly believe that hiring wedding vendors that know and love working with another makes a difference in the overall feeling and style of the day. We have a recommended vendor list that focuses on creating a collaborative experience and strives for authenticity in everything we do in order for your true personalities to be shared and displayed throughout your day. This list will be shared upon booking.
-
How far in advance does The Collective book?
Typically, we are booked anywhere between ten and fourteen months in advance. It depends on the season, of course.
-
Should we book an engagement session?
While we definitely recommend booking an engagement session, it’s certainly not required. It’s a great way to get to know your photographer ahead of time and get comfortable in front of the camera so you can sail through your wedding day!
-
How many images can we expect in our gallery?
For weddings, the number is always dependent on how much time is included in your collection, how many details you have prepared for the day, as well as how many guests are attending. We deliver no less than 500 images, and in most cases, deliver upwards of 1000+. For engagement sessions, we deliver around 75-100 images.
-
What percentage of your wedding galleries are in black and white versus color?
Approximately 80-90% are edited in color while 10-20% are edited in black and white.
-
When will we receive our images?
We deliver images within 6-8 weeks of your wedding day. We spend more time editing your images than we do at your actual wedding! Your cinematography media will take just a bit longer.
-
Do we need a second photographer?
While having two perspectives of your wedding day procures additional images, it may not be the best fit based on your guest size and timeline. We’ll help you make this decision based on your days unique details.
